New Sustainability Initiative: Reduce Waste and Earn Rewards with Cano Reusable Cups and Containers
SLC is tackling single-use containers – one cup at a time! SLC has adopted a new reusable food packaging program called Cano. This exciting initiative has enabled the College community to participate in reducing the waste we produce as an institution and reducing the impact of food packaging production and pollution overall.
SLC Hosted 2023 Ontario Colleges Accounting Case Competition
The Ontario Colleges Accounting Case Competition (OCACC) was hosted this year by St. Lawrence College. Held on SLC’s Kingston campus on April 1, 2023, marking OCACC’s return after a four-year break due to the pandemic, the event welcomed accounting student teams from across Ontario for a day of competition, action learning, and networking.
Hairstyling Student Placement Ends with Movie Premiere at Kingston Canadian Film Festival
A partnership between the Kingston Film Commission and SLC’s Hairstyling program provided a placement opportunity for Hairstyling students Julia Gutz and Cassidy Phieffer to attend the hair and makeup of the cast of the movie SWEAT.
SLC Game Programming Students Tour Snowed In Studios Inc.
The Game Programming graduating class and faculty recently visited Ottawa-based industry partner Snowed In Studios, a Keywords Studio. The College has had a relationship with Snowed In Studios for several years, with Studio Head Jean-Sylvain Sormany serving on the Program Advisory Committee. This past year, the studio volunteered mentors to meet with and guide students working on group projects.
