SLC Launches Sustainability Implementation Advisory Committee
As we embark on our second year in our Sustainability Plan, we are extremely proud to announce the formal launch of our Sustainability Implementation Advisory Committee. This committee will be pivotal in ensuring we achieve our sustainability targets and goals.
Teaching and learning through “risky play”
When our Early Childhood Education students graduate, they will be setting up programs for children and their families that allow for a sense of belonging and cultivate authentic, caring relationships and connections. For them to do this upon graduation, we need to emulate these practices in our classrooms, so that they understand what this looks like and how it feels.
“One College/One Student” Project Takes Shape
Creating a seamless student experience is the goal behind the "One College/One Student" project, co-sponsored by Shelley Aylesworth-Spink, VP International Education, and Michael Cooke, VP Student Affairs, and will integrate services, communication, and support for all students, both domestic and international.
Employee Success Through SLC Employment Service
St. Lawrence College Employment Service in Kingston and Ottawa have been working with the Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) program and have administered 450 applications and disbursed over $2.5 million in support of employee training. These funds are directed primarily toward local small businesses (under 100 employees).
Donate to Socks Kingston and Help CICE Students Learn Job Skills
Donating to a fundraiser to buy new socks for Kingston’s needy through Socks Kingston will also help students in SLC’s Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program. The students will be at a table in the cafeteria December 6-10 from 10:30-2:30 collecting new socks and money to go towards the purchase of socks.
