Culinary Students Make a Difference in the Community
For the fifth consecutive year, our Culinary students have continued a tradition that began during the COVID-19 pandemic—supporting Martha’s Table in its mission to provide meals to those in need. This year, the impact was as meaningful as ever.  On September 25, second-year Culinary Management students and Level 2 Cook Apprentices prepared over 80 complete, individually frozen meals
A Fresh Look for a Timeless Program: Hairstyling at SLC
Since its founding in 1967, the Hairstyling program at St. Lawrence College has been a cornerstone of creativity, skill, and community service. Through decades of industry evolution and curriculum innovation, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to excellence in hairstyling education.  The Hairstyling labs, located in the Kingston campus’s “temporary” Wolf (Blue) Technology and Trades building, have long been a hub of hands-on learning and transformation. This fall, the program received a much-needed facelift—reflecting both its growing enrolment and evolving needs.
HopNGo: Driving Innovation and Alumni Success
As we celebrate IT Professionals Day, we’re proud to spotlight HopNGo, a locally developed on-demand ride service that’s transforming urban mobility in Kingston—and doing so with the help of talented alumni from our college community.  Founded in Kingston and built by Kingstonians for Kingstonians, HopNGo is more than just a transportation app. It’s a community-driven initiative that values affordability, accessibility, and sustainability. The platform connects residents with licensed local drivers, offering a safe, reliable, and eco-conscious way to get around town.

This fall, we’re proud to launch MasterClass at SLC, an innovative two-semester leadership program designed to prepare the next generation of student leaders. This exclusive opportunity combines globally acclaimed MasterClass content, in-person workshops, and a culminating student-led professional development conference.
Building a Culture of Consent: Consent Awareness Week 2025
SLC and the Student Rights and Responsibilities team (SRRO) is proud to participate in the fourth annual Consent Awareness Week, a national initiative dedicated to promoting safer communities by raising awareness of sexual violence and the importance of consent. Taking place from September 15-19, 2025, this year’s week falls within a period known as the “red zone”, the time between orientation and Halloween when students, especially women and gender-diverse learners, face an increased risk of campus sexual violence.
