Learning Connections Conference 2024: Planning Team 
We would like to thank everyone in the SLC community for submitting their applications for the LCC Program Development Sub-Committee. The selected individuals will join the larger planning team in shaping the learning experiences for our 14th LCC celebration on May 22 and 23.  This year’s planning team includes a variety of part-time/full-time employees from different departments and campuses. It is within this unique collection of voices that we hope to bring an inspiring conference to the college. 
Environmental Technician Student Initiatives Promote Sustainability 
In an impressive showcase of commitment to environmental awareness and action, first-year students from the Environmental Technician program, have successfully concluded their Environmental Sustainability Action Projects as part of the course ENVI34: Environmental Issues and Solutions.  These students demonstrated a remarkable dedication to making a difference in environmental sustainability. Their projects, carefully designed to align with personal interests and broader ecological goals, spotlight the importance of proactive environmental stewardship. 
SLC and Fixvi: Bridging Skilled Trades and Digital Technology 
On November 17, 2023, SLC welcomed Jeff Gordon and Cameron Crompton, co-founders of Fixvi, to the Kingston campus to present their digital home services solution for connecting homeowners to contractors. Jeff’s and Cameron’s presentation to Carpentry Techniques, Plumber Apprenticeship, and Electrician Apprenticeship classes prompted engaging student interactions and insights. They also shared their business experiences, offering practical entrepreneurial advice to our future skilled trade leaders. 
Innovation Spotlight Recognition: Congratulations to our first recipients of the Innovation Spotlight! 
The Innovation Spotlight is meant to recognize our colleagues who demonstrate the value of innovation through one or more of the following:     - Quality – the innovation/innovator demonstrates improvement in the quality of college programs and operations.    - Efficiency – the innovation/innovator contributes to a more efficient and effective way of doing the work of the College.    - Creativity – the innovation is original, or the adaptation is creation, or the innovator demonstrates creative problem solving.    - Timeliness – the innovation has recently (three months) been implemented.    - Collaboration/Leadership – the innovator demonstrates the ability to collaborate, lead, and foster creative problem solving. 
New Intakes for Early Childhood Education (Online) Program
St. Lawrence College (SLC) has added two new intakes for the Early Childhood Education (ECE) (Online) program, which prepares students to work with children (from birth to age 12) and their families in a variety of early childhood settings.
