Register Now for the 2020 Summer School of the Arts!

Welcome to the 1000 Islands Summer School of the Arts!

We invite you to join us this summer in Brockville, Cornwall, and Kingston. For over 50 years, St. Lawrence College has offered inspiring summer arts programming within our Eastern Ontario communities. Quality, innovation, and student-centred learning is at the core of all that we do, and we are thrilled to offer you a wonderful new selection of creative workshops for summer 2020.

Within this guide you will find classes organized by campus and instructor. Master Classes are back, with a focus on offering workshops unique to our SSOA planning. Our ‘Masters’ are second-to-none in their innovative approach to their mediums. Don’t have time for a Master Class? We are also very pleased to introduce a number of ‘make-and-take’ workshops- the same inspiration without the time commitment! We’ve even introduced a fun dance class perfect for socializing with friends or making new ones. From macramé plant hangers to designing your own fabric, wax covered photographs to traditional oil portraiture, there are so many exciting things happening across our campuses this summer!

So, sit back, relax, and spend some time picking the perfect courses to get your artistic juices flowing. Register early to avoid disappointment.

Inspiration awaits!

Join our Master Class!

The 1000 Islands Summer School of the Arts is pleased to again offer our Master Class series of workshops. While most of our Master Classes are designed with the intermediate to advanced artist in mind, we are also excited offer some all-level workshops that are so unique and inspirational that we could only describe them as a Master Class!

Our goal is to provide artists with intensive or unique learning opportunities not possible throughout the regular school calendar. Our Master Classes are designed to help elevate your skill level, expand your knowledge, and enhance your creative voice. These courses are taught by carefully selected “Masters”- professional artists and professors who excel in their mediums. While fundamentals may be reviewed, class time typically focuses on further developing existing skill. Please refer to the individual course description for details.
