2014-12-04, 10:11 AM

St. Lawrence College’s Music Theatre –Performance program is pleased to present the rock musical RENT at the Firehall Theatre in Gananoque.

RENT follows the lives of impoverished young artists in New York City’s East Village. Set in the 1980’s this riveting tale of talented and creative youth struggling to survive the HIV/AIDS epidemic while maintaining friendships and relationships. RENT is based on the book, music and lyrics of Jonathan Lawson.

"Working on RENT has been an important learning experience which cannot be understated. My cast mates and I have been given the opportunity to grow as actors, singers and theatrical performers by honing in our strengths," said Eric McDace, student performer. We are encouraged by our director and music director. The cultural significance of the show has also given us further context into the world in which we live, promoting our personal development, as well as our development as artists.”
