St. Lawrence College is pleased to be hosting the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counselors (OACYC) provincial conference, June 4 to 6 on the Kingston Campus.

The conference, “Excellence in Child and Youth Care: Promoting the Profession,” is an event that brings child and youth care professionals together to highlight excellence in the field.  This gathering will promote exemplary scholarship, as well as the strides made both in advancing the profession in the non-profit and for-profit sectors. The conference unites a diverse group of child and youth care practitioners, as well as representatives from across Canada. Attendees will include frontline workers, supervisors, managers, and educators.

In keeping with the Association's theme of promoting the profession, thematically, the conference will highlight Excellence in Child and Youth Care Practice. Presentations and workshops will address one or more of the five areas of competencies for professional Child and Youth Care Practitioners: Professionalism, Cultural & Human Diversity, Applied Human Development, Relationships & Communication, and Developmental Practice Methods (ACYCP & CYCCB).
