Participation in St. Lawrence College's Pitch-In Day 2012 increases by 40%

St Lawrence College’s Pitch-In Day, an initiative to make our campuses and communities a bit more beautiful, has received overwhelming support from staff and faculty. In fact, committed participation in this year’s Pitch-In Day has almost doubled from last year.

"The dramatic increase in participation for Pitch-In Day reflects the commitment of individuals at St. Lawrence College to the communities we serve and to keeping our campuses beautiful and welcoming so students can continue to enjoy the green spaces," said Paige Agnew, Associate Director of Capital Planning & Sustainability.

Staff and faculty will gather on St. Lawrence College’s campuses in Brockville, Cornwall, and Kingston on Friday, April 27, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm to clean and beautify each campus and surrounding neighbourhoods by picking up litter.

Pitch-In Day at St. Lawrence College coincides with a nationwide initiative by Canadian non-profit organization PITCH-IN CANADA, whose Pitch-In Week is April 23-30. The date of St. Lawrence College’s Pitch-In Day is aligned with the Kingston community’s Pitch-In Day on Friday, April 27.

St. Lawrence College leads the provincial college sector on green initiatives and continues to look for opportunities to increase our sustainable initiatives and build momentum for even greater achievements moving forward.
