Exhibition shows amazing talents of graduating Graphic Design class of 2011

St. Lawrence College is pleased to present 38 Creative Monsters, an exhibition by the graduating class of the St. Lawrence College Graphic Design program. The show opens Saturday, April 23 from 7 to 9 pm at the Kingston School of Dance, 110 Princess Street, and continues at the college from Monday to Friday April 25-29 in Davies Hall.

The show features a wide array of design work, including packaging, layout, illustration, corporate identity, print, web, typography, and much more. "I’m thrilled with the talent of this years’ grads," said Brandon Laird, program coordinator of the Graphic Design program at SLC. "They’ve worked really hard, and they should all be very proud of themselves."

This year, the exhibition has received support from local partners, Allan Graphics, Wallack’s, Xerox, and the Kingston School of Dance. Allan Graphics and Wallack’s are also sponsoring 10 awards this year, through the St. Lawrence College Foundation. The awards recognize superior work in selected various categories.

The students have just returned from placement at locations all across Ontario. According to Sarah Orr of ArtPlus in Belleville, the students she's worked with have great communication skills and knowledge. "They know all design software and have good illustration and typography skills. They’re also very respectful and have great attitudes and work ethic with an ability to problem solve," she said.

All are welcome to attend the show, and admission is free!
