Second Annual Juried Art Show to open at the MVS Gallery


(June 18, 2009, Brockville, Ontario)

The show represents a wide variety of styles and media. The theme was created to encourage submissions from all types of artists in Eastern Ontario, Quebec and the US and to show each artists’ expression and interpretation of landscape and non-representational works.

Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, 2009, 2 to 4 pm

About St. Lawrence College
St. Lawrence College has approximately 6,000 full-time students from Canada and around the world, 20,000 part-time registrants, and 3,000 Job Connect Clients in over 80 academic programs and employs over 1,000 full-time and part-time staff at our three campuses in Brockville, Cornwall, and Kingston. In addition to new residences with more than 700 beds, the College has recently invested in new programs including degree Nursing, Bachelor of Business Administration, Energy Systems Engineering Technology, and the Culinary Co-op Apprenticeship Diploma Program, among others.

The Mariane van Silfhout Gallery is a state-of-the-art community art gallery located at the front atrium of the Brockville campus of St. Lawrence College and is a focus for the visual arts for Brockville and the larger Eastern Ontario area. Creation of the gallery was made possible by the generous bequest from the Estate of Marianne van Silfhout, a graduate of the Fine Art program at St. Lawrence College, and other contributors to the St. Lawrence Foundation.
– St. Lawrence College, Brockville campus, is pleased to announce its second annual juried art show, entitled Intrigue into the 1000 Islands, featuring works from artists from Ontario, Quebec and the US. The exhibition will be on view at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery, June 29 to August 9, 2009.
