What to wear? – Regalia

Regalia will be provided by the College on the day of Convocation. Graduate Regalia consists of a black, calf-length gown and either a red and white V-shaped collar or for those graduating from a degree program, a blue Laurentian University hood.

All Regalia must be returned to the gowning area within a half-hour of the ceremony ending.

Convocation is a formal ceremony celebrating your academic accomplishments, most choose to dress in semi-formal attire; however you will be wearing a gown over your clothing during the ceremony. No hats are permitted to be worn during the ceremony. You are also asked not to carry any personal belongings (purses, cameras, cell phones, etc.) with you during the procession. Please leave all valuables with friends or family as there is nowhere to store them during the ceremony.

Graduates with Special Needs

If you have a special need such as wheelchair seating, a physical condition that prevents you from sitting or standing for long periods of time, a special hearing device etc. that may require special consideration for the Convocation procession or ceremony, please contact the Convocation Coordinator at least two weeks prior to your ceremony.
