The Building Inclusive Community – The Beauty to Belong event brought together members of the Kingston community to discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion in Kingston. During the event a thought-provoking panel candidly shared their personal and professional experiences while discussing the over-arching theme of belonging.  
Join the SLC Community in the 2023 Commuter Challenge
Commuter Challenge 2023 is here! This is a nation-wide event that promotes sustainable methods of transportation and challenges commuters (staff and students) to get to work or school more sustainably. This means choosing cycling, carpooling, transit, etc. over driving solo when possible. Over the years, the SLC community has excelled in participation, in km saved, and emissions saved, so let’s beat our records this year!
Learning Connections Conference 2023 Wrap Up and Feedback Survey
We would like to thank everyone for attending this year’s Learning Connections Conference (LCC) 2023 event that took place on May 16 and 17! Our learning community broke a lot of records this year with the highest number of participant registrations, speakers, concurrent sessions, and keynotes.
SLC Students Advise on New Province-Wide Resource for International Students on Gender-Based Violence
Two students in SLC’s Health Care Administration program – Giselle Roque Garces and Marinelly Villalobos Nieto – had the opportunity to participate in COSTI Immigrant Services’ Advisory Committee to help develop content on gender-based violence (GBV) for international students in Ontario. This initiative has resulted in the creation of a province-wide e-module for international students on “Understanding Gender-based Violence”.
St. Lawrence College Adopts the Okanagan Charter to Guide Commitment to Wellbeing
SLC has formally adopted the Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges. In doing so, SLC intends to further embody our values through programs, improvements, and education that will directly and positively impact the health and wellbeing of our students, our people, and our shared communities.
