Overview
Students learn the techniques and skills required by not-for-profit managers, employees and volunteers to implement a wide variety of fundraising strategies and campaigns. The core courses provide training related to all aspects of successful fundraising, including recognizing opportunities, managing events, communicating with volunteers, donors and the media, as well as marketing and financial planning.
To successfully complete the program, participants must complete six (6) compulsory courses.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- For your convenience, some courses are offered both in-class and online. Some online courses can be started at different times throughout the semester, just choose the course date that fits your schedule.
- The demand for part-time courses has increased to the point that we recommend you register early to ensure your acceptance into the course.
- Online courses are easily identified by CS at the beginning of the course code (i.e. CSSE 65 Accounting Basics 1)
- Textbooks and additional materials may be required for these courses. YOU are responsible for purchasing your textbooks and any additional materials for all courses. Please make a note of your course code (CS##) and see the bottom of this page for book order procedure.

Requirements
Admission Requirements
Applicants to the program must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D.) or equivalent or must qualify for mature student status (19 years of age or older).
Career Opportunities
Students receive well-rounded training to become entry level employees as well as managers in the not-for-profit sector. Volunteers, including board members and those involved directly in fundraising, will benefit from this training with an enhanced understanding of the many strategies and processes. This certificate also offers an excellent professional development opportunity for fundraising professionals, who are looking to update or refresh their skills.
