Join us for a conversation with 3 Two-Spirit (2S) individuals in our community, who are opening their hearts to us and sharing their experiences. It is an opportunity to learn about what Two-Spirit means and the importance of not appropriating the term.

Mance Granberg
My name is Mance Granberg and I am mixed Maliseet (Wolastoqiyik), Abenaki and family originates from both the Cacouna and Wolinak /Bencancour area of Quebec. I am a former RPN and have worked in psychiatric nursing for over 22 years. I identify as two spirited.
I gain inspiration from mother earth, and circles because of how there is no beginning and no end, and how we are all infinitely connected. Circles represent creation, Creator, Mother Earth , Grandmother Moon and Grandfather Sun. I am an activist and core organizer of Revolution of the Heart a Revolution of the Heart: A Ceremonial Action ( with others who are wonderful activists in the community). I am a former Indigenous Circle member, and I believe in Equity, Inclusion and Diversity and my art reflects that.
Lynda Gerow
Aniin (Hello everyone) My name is Lynda and I am a 2S woman from the Ts’il Kaz Koh Wet’suwet’en Nation in Burns Lake, British Columbia. My teachings are mostly Anishinaabe and Mohawk. Mukade Miiagan is my spirit name meaning Black Wolf. I am currently the Support Worker/Cultural Coordinator/team lead with Tipi Moza in addition to working in the community to re-learn traditional languages and to educate our youth. I am the president of the Kingston Thunder Women, ( Ontario Native Women's Association chapter). I also sit with the local CFS agency’s Keweywin Circle, whose focus is to reunite children with their families and culture. My Fiance Tracy and I are mothers to 4 grown children and tota/kookom to 5 grandsons and 1 grand daughter. We are both fire keepers, pow wow dancers and sundance helpers.
Together we are building a life centered around our traditional ways of knowing and being.
