Artist Bio
Liz Rae Dalton is a mid-career artist exploring sculpture and painting to advocate for the earth, women, and human connection. She works in a variety of media with an environmental focus inspired by her years living close to nature on Howe Island, Ontario, Canada.
Liz was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons.) and a Bachelor of Education (Artist in the Community Education) from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario and has developed an art practice through teaching, exhibiting and creating.
She has exhibited extensively in solo, and juried exhibitions in Canada, and the USA, with artwork housed in private and corporate collections in Canada and beyond. Her work can be viewed at her studio in Kingston by appointment, or at the O’Connor Gallery Gananoque, and through galleries in the Toronto area.
Artist Statement
My current sculpture and painting practices explore installation experiences designed for the viewer to consider our human journey. With the past meeting the present through ancient artifacts and mythology, my work may suggest a way to navigate at this complex moment in time.
My art practice continues to speak for nature with carved shoreline wood and foraged finds.
For me, creating is an act of hope.
