POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Talent Management Consultants, the student incumbent works up to 12-hours per week (may include evenings and/or weekends), performing administrative related work in the areas of talent acquisition, organizational development, and organization design to support the operations of the department. The successful incumbent demonstrates strong customer-service, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills, combined with an ability to work under pressure, and problem-solve while working independently.

This position will assist with research, organizing and developing organizational development programs, as well as assist with talent acquisition initiatives. The position requires an individual who can work independently on occasion, but also as a member of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing programs and initiatives that support training programs.
  • Assist with drafting talent acquisition documents to aid the recruitment process.
  • Create job posting and applications in the college’s software systems
  • Contribute to the creation and promotion of internal training programs.
  • Support the planning and facilitation of internal/external training sessions.
  • Assist with Years of Service tracking and the annual St. Lawrence College Employee awards process.
  • Pull usage data from software system related to the completion of legislated training by St. Lawrence College employees.
  • Monitoring of key email accounts, scheduling meetings and sessions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management, strong organizational skills, and an attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively work independently with instruction, or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of standard computer applications (MS word, Excel, Teams, & Email).
  • High degree of integrity for maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements: 

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location and work temporarily from a remote location with reliable internet access, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college’s Telework Policy.

Salary & Terms

  • Start Rate: $17.60/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
  • Hours per week: 12.00

Terms of Employment:

  • Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College OR returning to Full-Time studies in the immediate upcoming semester.
  • Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
