POSITION SUMMARY

The Recruitment Team at SLC is responsible for engaging with potential students and informing them about the programs and services available at the college. The Student Recruiter position is important in this process as new students want to hear from current students about what life is like at SLC.

The Student Recruiter is often the first point of contact for the college and as such is responsible for setting a positive, professional tone in interactions with all clients and moving them through a defined sales process. The incumbent is an integral team member within the College’s Recruitment and Marketing Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet students, staff and faculty in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Provide general information about St. Lawrence College and the Brockville campus and direct inquiries to appropriate areas
  • Provide campus tours to prospective students and their families
  • Assist with various events such as: open house and KPI Surveys
  • Assist in development and implementation of school activities and information events
  • Perform other customer service duties as assigned
  • Reply to general e-mail inquiries and phone messages
  • Assist with major mail-outs, phone campaigns and other marketing efforts
  • Compile statistical reports and maintain student information using Salesforce and Peoplesoft applications
  • On occasion may be asked to perform other duties as assigned, such as special functions (i.e., orientation, convocation, open house, awards dinners, etc.)

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Punctual, reliable and friendly
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
  • General knowledge of the campus and building layout
  • Self-starter and the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work well with the general public
  • Strong understanding of standard computer applications and CRM platforms (Salesforce, MS Word, Excel, & Email)
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative on work tasks
  • General knowledge of St Lawrence College and the Brockville Campus
  • Understanding of, and ability to demonstrate, the principles of confidentiality

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements: 

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.

Salary & Terms

  • Start Rate: $17.60/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
  • Hours per week: 12.00

Terms of Employment:

  • Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College OR returning to Full-Time studies in the immediate upcoming semester.
  • Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
  • Must sign and abide by St. Lawrence College’s Confidentiality Agreement.
