POSITION SUMMARY
Reports to Department Manager, and under the guidance of the designate, the student incumbent works up to 12-hours per week (may include evenings and/or weekends), providing assistance to gain work experience while supporting the operations of the department. The successful incumbent demonstrates strong interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills, combined with an ability to work under pressure, and problem-solve while working independently.
The Career Pathways Research Assistant will play a pivotal role in studying and shaping dynamic career development trajectories for students in the Health Care Administration (HCA) program. This position focuses on research into career pathways, workforce trends, and professional development initiatives that enhance student success and promote program visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Career Pathways Research
· Investigate career trajectories and industry trends within health care administration.
· Analyze workforce dynamics to identify key skills, qualifications, and opportunities for students.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to design frameworks that support career advancement and professional growth.
- Student Engagement Support
· Support development initiatives connecting HCA students with career resources and networking opportunities.
· Act as a liaison between faculty, administration, and students, ensuring open communication and gathering feedback on student career aspirations.
· Assist in the coordination of workshops and discussion forums focusing on career pathways and professional development.
- Social Media and Marketing Support
· Support HCA program’s social media channels to share insights on career pathways, industry updates, and student achievements.
· Create engaging content to educate and inspire students about career possibilities.
· Track analytics to optimize reach and online engagement.
- Administration and Reporting
· Maintain detailed records of career research, event outcomes, and engagement metrics.
· Prepare reports on student feedback and career insights to inform program improvements.
· Assist in promotional efforts to recruit and retain students pursuing the HCA program.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of an undergraduate diploma or degree.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Strong research and analytical abilities, with experience in workforce or career pathways analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter) and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva).
- Experience in event planning and coordination, particularly in professional development contexts.
- Creative thinker with a passion for supporting students in their career journeys.
- Background in healthcare or related studies.
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.
Salary & Terms
- Start Rate: $17.45 - $21.13/ hour, dependent upon qualifications/experience (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)

Terms of Employment:
- Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies or returning to Full-Time studies in the Fall 2025 semester.
