Daphnee Brindamour-Nguyen

Designer Bio

From a young age, Daphnee Brindamour-Nguyen always had an inclination toward visual arts. From the first day, she picked up a pencil and started scribbling on paper, she never seemed to have stopped. Drawing inspiration from her favourite mediums including drawing, painting, comic books, and animation, Daphnee applies her passion for art to any project she embarks on.

As she grew older, her passion for visual arts found its natural trajectory into Graphic Design where she found a love for branding, illustration, as well as web and app design. Daphnee is always on the outlook for a project that will challenge her creativity, as well as diversify and expand her portfolio. With every project, she applies her attention to detail and perfectionist mindset to come up with meaningful solutions.

Graphic Design III

Objective

The objective of this project was to create an easy baking kid’s recipe book for children and their parents to use as a family-bonding activity. For this project, I illustrated all images by hand so that cartoon-like images can appeal to the young audience.

Description

The overall layout is heavily illustrative but also uses very simple and straightforward text instructions so that a child may follow along easily with the guidance of a parent.

Brand Identity III

Objective

The objective of this project was to completely rebrand a non-profit organization. The client for this project was Active Minds, an organization focused on spreading awareness and removing the stigma surrounding mental health. Once having created an identity for the brand, the objective was to then apply this solution to different applications.

Description

The target audience for this project was students aged 14-25, therefore the branding had to be visually appealing to this demographic while also demonstrating the company’s values and mission. The final solution takes inspiration from common trends amongst similar organizations while also applying a creative visual to have it stand out from the rest.

Graphic Design V

Objective

The purpose of this project was to work with a client and come up with a solution for their design problem. The client for this project was St. Lawrence College’s Wellness & Accessibility services, which wished to create an integrated strategy for mental health that includes both faculty and students across all 3 campuses in order to promote and spread awareness about mental health and well-being at the college.

Description

My solution for this project was to create an app that allows both faculty and students to express their feelings and/or share their thoughts through a community feed. Talkspace is designed to allow users to express themselves and connect as a community on an app based on care and support. Talkspace can be promoted on the SLC.me portal so that it can be directly integrated into the college’s identity and also be accessible to all users.
