Final Portfolio

Objective

This project’s goal was to create a promotional campaign poster for a Robotics Conference, as well as a 4-page booklet with further details of the speakers and events. The poster is two-sided and foldable, and the booklet features many pages to take notes.

Description

This is a redesign of a poster and a booklet made in the second year of the program. It is for a scientific conference, called “Man and Machine.” It blends hand-drawn illustrations and typography to meet the design goals. The purpose is to create a folded poster — the front being an engaging promotional element, and the back acting as an itinerary for the event. The booklet details the event in further detail, featuring an itinerary, speaker bios, notes, and a sponsors page.

Interaction Design III

Objective

The goal of this assignment was to redesign the UR SLC app in order to address usability issues and increase student participation in Recreation & Athletics. By improving the functionality and overall design, feedback showed that users were inclined to utilize the application more regularly.

Description

Research conducted revealed that many students do not engage with events happening at the college due to the confusing nature of the original application’s design. This redesign promotes an emphasis on bold visuals and clear affordances in order to engage the user and encourage participation in extracurriculars.

Graphic Design I
Final Portfolio

Objective

The purpose of this assignment was to create an illustrated book cover for a title of our choosing. This project was revisited in the final term.

Description

These 6x9 inch book covers were designed for the classic tale Moby Dick by Herman Melville. They were both developed over a four-week period and are intended to demonstrate illustrative capabilities. The original cover, in blue, was completed in first year. The red cover is traditionally illustrated, which attempts to capture a much more classic tone in comparison to the original. The first version was executed in Procreate, giving it a modern aesthetic. The two styles each offer different benefits and are appropriate for various settings.
