Second positive COVID-19 case confirmed at SLC Cornwall campus

St. Lawrence College (SLC) was informed that a second student from the Cornwall campus tested positive for COVID-19. This case is unrelated to the case reported on Tuesday, September 29.

The student is isolating at their home and their contraction of COVID-19 is suspected to have taken place outside of the Cornwall community. They were last on the Cornwall campus on Wednesday, September 23.

Following established protocols, SLC is working closely with the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) in Cornwall, who has initiated contact tracing. Individuals who have been in close contact with the affected person and are deemed at risk will be notified by EOHU directly. SLC has performed extensive cleaning to ensure any affected areas on campus are sanitized and safe for students.
