Artist Statement
To me, art is the truest form of human connection. We all have a poem, an art piece, a book, a building, or a movie that speaks to the deepest places of our souls. Anyone can consume art, and anyone can make art. As artists, not only does art allow others to connect with us, it allows for us to connect with ourselves.
Art has allowed me to do just that. Through creation, I have leaned into what fascinates me. Whether it be a colour, like ultramarine blue, a coily branch-like line, or simply a person’s eyes, art is in everything. Curiosity is a tool that has helped me to develop as an artist. It has pushed me to use an inquisitive eye when approaching my daily life. I ask myself questions; I let my art hold the answers.
