Indigenous Artist Bio
Martine Bresson was born in France and immigrated to Canada in 1975.
Her interest in making photographic images began early in life and over the years, photography became a passion, driven by an irresistible urge to document, to acknowledge and reflect on both the simplest and the most complex elements of the people and places of everyday life.
She has practiced her art for more than 40 years, exploring life and its people on 5 continents. She had a solo exhibition at Calligrammes Gallery in Ottawa and participated in several collective juried exhibitions in Ottawa and Kingston (Modern Fuel Gallery, Kingston Arts Council and at the Wooden Mills Restaurant). Her photographs are mostly in private collections.
She currently lives in Kingston, Ontario.

Flights of Fancy - Staircases and Saints
There are lots of ways to “ascend” in Rome - up a monumental staircase, or with Saint Chrysogonus on his way to heaven or on a masterpiece of architectural art by Borromini.
