Indigenous Artist Bio
Julie Withrow has been working at art for the past 35 years. Her art practice has involved a variety of media. She has worked with sculpture, textiles, installations, collage, and drawings. She has had one-person shows at The Agnes Etherington Art Centre in Kingston, The Justina Barnicke Gallery (twice) at the University of Toronto, Hamilton Artists Inc., and others, as well as many group shows. For the past few years she has been concentrating on painting, both figurative and abstract. She has exhibited extensively since 1985.
Artist Statement
I have worked in many different media over the many years I have been an artist: sculpture, printmaking, painting, textiles, and installation. My work has always reflected the idiosyncratic and peculiar ways I look at the world and what goes on around me, as well as events and things that have happened to me in my life.
