TEST CENTRE RULES

  • Students are monitored by Test Centre Staff for all forms of cheating and violations of the SLC Academic Integrity Policy. Cheating may lead to termination of the test and/or reporting of the violation to faculty.
  • Students are expected to comply with specific test instructions from faculty and any direction provided by Test Centre Staff.
  • No talking or disruptive noise is permitted in the Test Centre. Students may ask questions of Test Centre Staff only.
  • Students will be asked to provide a valid SLC Student Card or government-issued photo identification (Passport or Driver’s License/Photo Card).
  • Students should arrive at the Test Centre in time to register and complete the test before the Test Centre’s closing time. Students are responsible for monitoring test time limit.
  • Personal electronic devices are NOT permitted in the Test Centre. All devices must be turned OFF and placed in the designated storage area for the duration of the test. This include cell phones, tablets, USB flash drives, laptops, music/audio players, headsets, smart watches, or any device identified by Test Centre Staff.
  • Students are discouraged from bringing valuables and personal electronic devices to the Test Centre. Students will be asked to leave all belongings, valuables and electronic devices in the designated storage area for the duration of the test. The Test Centre is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Coats and outerwear such as scarves, shawls or ponchos, purses, backpacks and other personal belongings identified by Test Centre Staff are NOT permitted in the testing area.
  • Wristwatches (including Smart watches and fitness monitors) are not permitted to be worn in the testing area.
  • No food or beverages are permitted in the Test Centre. Students may bring water in clear, label-free bottles only.
  • Students should bring required supplies such as pencils, erasers, and pens.
  • Students may be permitted bathroom breaks during the test. Breaks will be monitored and reported to faculty.
  • The Test Centre is a Scent-Reduced Zone. Please avoid the use of heavily scented products such as perfume and cologne.
  • In case of emergency (fire alarm, lockdown) or inclement weather alerts, students are to follow instructions of the Test Centre Staff.

Students requiring academic accommodations and/or exceptions from any of the above should contact Student Wellness & Accessibility in advance of the scheduled test. Non-SLC Students will need to arrange accommodations through their home institution.

 

Failure to comply with direction from Test Centre Staff may result in termination of the test and/or reporting to faculty or administration in accordance with the SLC Academic Integrity Policy.
