What is BIT?

The St Lawrence College Behavioural Intervention Team is a group of campus professionals who collaborate on and respond to reports of concerning or disruptive behaviours on campus.  The BIT is responsible for coordinating information, strategies, support and resources in order to assist individuals who may be in distress or are exhibiting behaviours of concern.  The BIT encourages student health and well-being, and a safe campus environment overall.

What does BIT do?

  The BIT is the central point of contact for reporting concerning behaviour on campus.

  Provides consultation and support to faculty, staff, administration, and students in assisting individuals who display concerning or disruptive behaviour.

  Assesses threat/risk using a coordinated multidisciplinary approach.

  Connects individuals with appropriate campus and/or community resources.

  Facilitates follow-up.
