Introducing a new section to Our College News – a digest of sorts to help you stay on top of developments and details that are confirmed for fall 2021. This section will summarize the most recent information you will need, both as an SLC employee, and to help our students.
- On August 3, all new, paid students will receive an email inviting them to register for Orientation Day and SLC Ready events like Smart Start and SAIL to Success, in addition to Welcome session for International students. Details about these events can be found on the SLC website.
- The student checklist is being updated as dates and details are confirmed, and is the central “home base” for what students are required to do, when to be ready for September.
- Parking permits are available for sale effective August 3, and are required as of September 1.
- Event and Banquet Services, which initially reopened on a small scale in the fall of 2020, has defined and refined a process for welcoming external bookings on campuses in a safe and efficient manner. They will continue to provide service to external clients on a manageable scale, and following current public health and joint health and safety regulations and recommendations.
Event and classroom rentals will be on a case-to-case basis which could shift the hours of staffing into the early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends. Note that regular office hours will come back in to effect as of September 7, 2021 with the team working 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday in Kingston.
