SLC+ Launches New Fitness and Health Promotion Certifications

Fitness and Health Promotion Certifications

SLC+ has been working with Natasha Agaoglu, Fitness and Health Promotion faculty and program coordinator, to launch new Fitness and Health Promotion Certifications. In this suite of practical, hands-on micro-credentials, learners will create and lead group exercise classes including indoor cycling, yoga, senior fitness, personal training and resistance training, and more. Students will explore the mechanics of movement and correcting exercise form while applying the principles of training and program design for cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, mobility, and flexibility. Students will also develop the practical skills and knowledge to effectively create safe individualized exercise programs for clients based on health background and activity level.

The SLC+ Fitness and Health Promotion micro-credentials are recognized by the Ontario Fitness Council. Courses begin in May. Learn more about the certifications.

SLC+ is a collection of learning opportunities that extend beyond traditional academic programming. Whether your goal is to upskill or reskill, to pursue a new interest, or to drive business innovation, choose SLC+ to continue your educational journey.
