As we kick off the new year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the many ways students engaged and contributed throughout the Fall semester. The St. Lawrence Experience Record (SER) continues to build momentum and grow as a platform that recognizes students’ out-of-classroom involvement across five key areas: Campus Experiences, Badges, Volunteer Hours, Club Memberships, and Learning Pathways.

Here are a few highlights from the fall 2025 semester:

• Over 160 students volunteered at campus events, collectively logging 900 volunteer hours!
• 465 unique Campus Experiences were recognized, ranging from Peer Mentors and Student Government Executives to Varsity Athletes, Club Leaders, and more!
• We added the AI Literacy Pathway, an initiative designed to equip students with the skills and mindset needed to navigate a world increasingly shaped by Artificial Intelligence.
• Collaboration with college departments led to innovative opportunities to support student learning. For example, the Career Services team introduced a “Career Confidence Pathway” to recognize students who complete specific training related to career readiness.

In addition to tracking and recognizing student engagement, reflection is a key component of the St. Lawrence Experience Record. By developing reflective habits, students are encouraged to think critically about their involvement, identify the skills they have gained, and set new goals for continued development.

While reflecting, students have shared thoughtful advice to inspire their peers and encourage campus involvement. Here are some memorable quotes:

“Remember, every experience, no matter how small, can have a significant impact on your personal and professional growth. So, seize the moment, get involved, and make the most of your time at St. Lawrence College.”

“Take all the opportunities you have to learn and connect with people, be brave to show your skills and do not be scared if you fail. We all make mistakes, and it is part of the process!”

“Embrace every opportunity to engage with people from different backgrounds and actively participate in events or projects that push you out of your comfort zone.”

Thank you to all staff and departments who continue to support student engagement. Your involvement makes SER a powerful tool for recognizing involvement, developing skills, and preparing students for their future careers. It’s one of the many ways SLC helps students stand out from the crowd.
