Visual and Creative Arts - Fine Arts Students Complete Works for the Royal Canadian Navy

A collage of fine art depicting moments in Royal Canadian Navy history.

The 2019-2020 academic year marked the second year Visual and Creative Arts - Fine Arts students had the honour of working with the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) to complete works for the government collection.

While the onset of COVID-19 delayed the delivery and completion of this project, Professor and Visual and Creative Arts - Fine Arts Program Coordinator Christina Chrysler was able to deliver the students’ art to the Royal Canadian Navy Headquarters in Ottawa on December 21, 2020. Our SLC students’ work will now remain part of Canada’s naval history.

SLC was one of only three institutions in Canada to work with the RCN to complete this project.

The students – now class of 2020 graduates – whose art is on display at the RCN Headquarters are:

  • Haley Deir
  • Victoria Edgar
  • Hannah Lalonde
  • Lydia Larochelle
  • Mary Mokrushyna
  • Brigid Wilkes
  • Kit Wolfe
