Advancing Healthcare Research at SLC
For more than 20 years, Dr. Maha Othman has been a dedicated faculty member in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program at SLC. Alongside teaching, she has maintained an active research program in the field of bleeding and thrombosis, publishing over 140 peer-reviewed articles and coordinating collaborative projects nationally and internationally. Central to her work is the involvement of students—both undergraduate and postgraduate—as well as early-career professionals.  
Turning Learning into Leadership: HCA Capstone Tackles Gender-Based Violence
Gender-based violence (GBV) remains one of the most urgent and pervasive issues in our world — often invisible, often silenced, yet deeply rooted in every community. Over the past seven weeks, our HCA Capstone students partnered with Victim Services of Kingston & Frontenac to explore how healthcare providers can create safety, understanding, and meaningful change. 
Pitching Innovation: Veterinary Technology Students Take on the "Dragon’s Den"
As part of their final course project, third-year Veterinary Technology students were challenged to design a replacement or refinement model for use in the program. The goal was to create innovative tools or approaches that reinforce understanding of key topics and provide opportunities for skill development without relying on live animals.
