Resources

You are not alone. There are many support services and resources, at St. Lawrence College and beyond, that can help individuals affected by sexual and gender-based violence.

The Student Rights & Responsibilities Office (SRRO) provides a safe space for anyone who has been impacted by sexual violence to learn about available supports, seek accommodations and explore their options.  

The SRRO can provide a range of non-emergency support services, including referrals for counselling. You do not need to submit a formal complaint with either the College or the police to access support through the SRRO.

There are many specialized community resources that can support you following an experience of sexual violence. All resources listed below are available free of charge.

Sexual Violence Crisis and Support Line

  • Available 12pm-12am daily.

Assaulted Women's Helpline

  • Available 24/7.
  • Helpline for women who have experienced any form of abuse or violence.

Fem'aide

  • Available 24/7.
  • Francophone helpline for women affected by violence.
  • Call or text 1-877-336-2433.

 

Talk 4 Healing

  • Available 24/7.
  • Culturally grounded helpline for Indigenous women, available in 14 languages.
  • Call 855.554.4325 or chat online.

 

Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline

  • Available 24/7.
  • Multilingual service that connects victims of human trafficking with social services, law enforcement, and emergency services. The hotline also receives tips from the public regarding suspected human trafficking.

Support Services for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse

  • Available 24/7.
  • Multilingual crisis and referral services for male survivors of sexual abuse, both recent and historical.

Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Team - KHSC

  • Available 24/7.
  • Emergency care, counselling and referrals for survivors of sexual violence.
  • Attend the KGH Emergency Department or the HDH Urgent Care Centre or call 613-549-6666 ext. 0 and ask to speak to the SADV nurse on call.

Sexual Assault Centre Kingston

  • Available by appointment, Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.
  • Support, including counselling, for survivors of sexual violence.

Kingston Interval House 

  • Available 24/7. 
  • Crisis line, emergency shelter and support services for women and children leaving abusive situations.
