St. Lawrence College to continue participating in the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to announce its continued participation in the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant for the 2026-27 academic year, a program that is addressing critical healthcare worker shortages in Eastern Ontario communities. Since the program started in fall 2023, SLC has welcomed just over 1,200 Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Practical Nursing students, who have benefited from the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant, and last summer, 161 Practical Nursing students from the first funded cohort graduated.
St. Lawrence College Receives Major Gift for Personal Support Worker Program
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is thrilled to announce a major gift of $250,000 to its Personal Support Worker (PSW) program in Kingston from the Estate of John Weatherall, a well-known business leader and philanthropist whose legacy of giving has benefitted many institutions in the Kingston community, from healthcare to the arts.   John Weatherall (1932-2024) was widely recognized for his generous support in the Kingston area, including Queen's University, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, the Kingston Symphony, The Kingston Choral Society, and the United Way of KFL&A, among many others.
SLC Showcases Hands-On Career Opportunities at Level Up! Kingston
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is proud to participate in Level Up!, a multi-day career fair connecting students in grades 7 to 12 with opportunities in Ontario's skilled trades and will be onsite at Kington’s Slush Puppie Place on December 2, 2025. The event brings together industry organizations, post-secondary institutions, businesses, and associations to showcase more than 140 skilled trades through interactive exhibitions and hands-on activities.
