POSITION SUMMARY

The Course Outline Review Assistant will support an institutional initiative led by the Registrar's Office to streamline course setup in the Student Information System (SIS). This project aims to reduce unnecessary prerequisite and corequisite requirements to minimize registration overrides for students. The successful candidate will review and update course outlines to reflect approved changes and ensure accurate documentation across programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review PDF course outlines to identify prerequisite and corequisite requirements.
  • Update course outlines by removing or adding prerequisite and corequisite based on a provided spreadsheet from the Registrar's Office.
  • Ensure all updates are accurate, consistent, and aligned with institutional standards.
  • Save revised course outlines to the designated S drive following established naming conventions.
  • Track progress and maintain organization across a large volume of documents (hundreds of course outlines).
  • Communicate any discrepancies or issues requiring clarification to project leads.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management, strong organizational skills, and an attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively work independently with instruction, and collaboratively with a team
  • Understanding of standard computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Teams, & Email)
  • High degree of integrity for maintaining confidentiality at all times

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements: 

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location and work temporarily from a remote location with reliable internet access, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college's Telework Policy.

Salary & Terms

  • Start Rate: $17.95/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
  • Hours per week: 35.00

Terms of Employment:

  • Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College OR returning to Full-Time studies in the immediate upcoming semester.
  • Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
  • Must sign and abide by St. Lawrence College’s Confidentiality Agreement.
