POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to Department Manager, and under the guidance of the designate, the student incumbent works up to 10-hours per week both indoors and outdoors depending on the need (may include evenings and/or weekends). The incumbent will promote student engagement activities and athletics events to students and staff on each campus and virtually through coverage of events, engagement through social media, and designing promotional material. 

providing assistance in greeting and guiding customers and performing limited administrative related tasks to gain work experience while supporting the operations of the department. The successful incumbent demonstrates strong customer-service, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills, combined with an ability to work under pressure, and problem-solve while working independently. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coverage of athletics and student engagement events through photography, videotaping and social media.
  • Assist in designing promotional content for both virtual and physical material.
  • Complete required work in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide reliable and professional customer service in-office, at events, and online.
  • Act in accordance with St. Lawrence College policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in marketing and communications.
  • Competent in Adobe Suite programs, Microsoft Office applications, and social media platforms.
  • Creative, passionate, and positive self-starter who is committed to customer service and teamwork.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and able to solve problems.
  • High degree of integrity for maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements: 

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.

Salary & Terms

  • Start Rate: $17.95/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
  • Hours per week: 10.00

Terms of Employment:

  • Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College.
  • Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
