As important members of the health care team, they interact directly with patients, perform ECGs and collect blood samples for laboratory analysis. Inside the laboratory, they assist other professionals by sorting and preparing samples for testing, operate laboratory equipment, perform basic laboratory testing under supervision, and manage data in computers. Includes placement. Qualify to write the Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Association of Ontario (MLPAO) and the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification exams for Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician.
