SLC Surge Partners with BGC South East

Participants and coaches from the BGC South East basketball program

Local kids at the BGC South East (formerly known as the Boys and Girls Club Kingston) have a unique opportunity to develop their athletic skills with the BGC/SLC Surge basketball program.

The first program started on February 1 and is for kids in grades 6-8 and focuses on both skill and game development. Each 90-minute session is divided between organized skill development drills and moderated game play.

“This program provides local kids the opportunity to move and learn some basketball, while building a positive relationship with SLC,” said Stew Clark, SLC’s Director of Marketing and Recruitment, and this session’s volunteer lead coach. “This is hopefully the first of more programs to come in the future and will include additional sports and activities.”

All participants receive a branded SLC Surge t-shirt, and SLC will be providing occasional ‘guest’ coaching from varsity athletes and an appearance from the SLC Surge Mascot.
