Dr. Rea Marcelissen, a veterinary technician educator at St. Lawrence College, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE)—a prestigious designation recognizing exceptional leadership, dedication, and impact in veterinary technician education. The AVTE Fellows Program honours educators who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to advancing the profession through mentorship, innovation, and service.
The rigorous selection process highlighted Dr. Marcelissen’s wide‑ranging contributions, including organizing community outreach initiatives that provide experiential learning opportunities for students, contributing to provincial Veterinary Technician program learning outcome updates, and supporting professional development efforts across the sector.
