Kingston Nursing Research Conference Offers New Lunch and Learn Series

With its annual research conference on hiatus in 2024, organizers of the Kingston Nursing Research Conference are offering new learning opportunities instead.

Starting in late February, nurse-scientists will be sharing their insights into research tools, methods and projects at three, one-hour Lunch and Learn sessions. These free events will be offered both in-person and virtually over the lunch hour.

“The demands of implementing the Lumeo health information system in our hospitals made us think about other ways of keeping research momentum going at a time when a conference was not feasible,” says Nicole Chenier-Hogan, Nurse Practitioner in Oncology and conference Co-Chair. “We’re excited to have members of our nurse-scientist community bring their experiences of implementing research into practice to their colleagues across our three hospitals.”

Lunch and Learn events will take place on Thursday, Feb. 29 in-person at Providence Care, Thursday, March 7 in-person at KHSC’s Hotel Dieu Hospital, and Thursday, March 21 in-person at KHSC’s Kingston General Hospital.

In-person sessions are limited to 20 people, and registration is required. In-person sessions will include lunch. Registration is not required for virtual attendees. Student attendance is strictly virtual.
Details about speakers and topics, registration deadlines and links to register and/or to access virtual sessions can be found at Nursing | KHSC Kingston Health Sciences Centre (kingstonhsc.ca)
