Andrea Rochon, Professor in the School of Baccalaureate Nursing, was recently recognized at the 28th Annual Kingston Nursing Research Conference for her presentation, Leading Change in Gerontological Nursing Education Through a Long-Term Care Collaboration Model.
Dr. Rochon received the Dr. Joan Tranmer Presentation Award, an honour voted on by more than 80 nurses, nurse researchers, and nurse educators attending the conference. The award-winning presentation highlighted research Dr. Rochon is conducting with fellow faculty member Julie Dyke, supported by a grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) through the College and Community Social Innovation Fund (CCSIF).
Their province-wide, three-year initiative, Shaping Positive Perceptions of Long-Term Care, aims to address Canada’s critical long-term care nursing shortage by linking educational innovations with social media strategies to inspire future nurses. Read more about the research project.
