Over the last couple of years, SLC‘s Innovation and Business Engagement department has conducted several workforce development projects directly or in partnership using SkillsAdvance Ontario (SAO) funding within Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD). Read a brief overview of current and recently completed projects.

A new program geared to ease transitions for SLC international students into their new community is launching thanks to a generous philanthropic gift from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. The Global Engagement Community Development program is a new area of focus in the SLC Global Engagement Strategy, in support of SLC in Five. The gift will fund a new position to lead the program.

SLC+ Continuing Education at St. Lawrence College is now delivering micro-credentials: short, competency-based training opportunities that focus on in-demand workplace skills.

St. Lawrence College (SLC) has renamed and rebranded the Indigenous Student Centres on each campus in Kingston, Brockville, and Cornwall. Formerly known as the Eagle’s Nest Indigenous Centre, the new name is Waasaabiidaasamose (Whah-sah Bid–eh–so–may) Indigenous Centre. The name is in honor of Indigenous Elder Helena Neveu, whose spirit name is Waasaa Biidaasamose Kwe, meaning Walks far Woman.

St. Lawrence College celebrated its first cohort of the Contemporary Educator Program (CEP) on June 11 as 13 new full-time faculty celebrated their two-year learning journey with colleagues.
