Sexual Violence Prevention Month 2022
May is Sexual Violence Prevention Month. Sexual assault centres have spent time and energy into bringing awareness to sexual violence for decades. This month the Ontario Coalition of Rape and Crisis Centres (OCRCC) is highlighting the work of using this awareness to further practice violence prevention, using a Survivors First approach. The OCRCC says it takes a community to end sexual violence – this work cannot be done alone and there is room for everyone to get involved. 
Overdose Prevention Training Equips Employees and Students to Save Lives
As a result of a partnership between SLC Student Wellness and Accessibility (SWA) and Mark Barnes of Respect Rx Pharmacy (RRP) and NaloxoneCare.com, more than 1,600 SLC students and employees have received potentially life-saving overdose prevention training.
Play Games Developed By Game Programming Students
The Capstone Project course in SLC's Game Programming program is designed to emulate a studio environment. Students create detailed design and technical documents and worked collaboratively in small teams of 4-5 learning to effectively use source control software like Git (github), set up automated build systems using Jenkins, communicate through Discord, prioritize tasks on Atlassian JIRA, and use the game engine Unity to create finished products with the goal of releasing a playable game to a publishing market by the end of the semester.

The Athletics and Student Engagement department at St. Lawrence College was recently awarded Best Social Media in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) at their annual Marketing Awards.
Behavioural Psychology Graduates Present Theses Abstracts Online
One of the biggest achievements that the BPSYC students have accomplished this year is completing their theses during these pressing times. They were able to conduct impressive research on topics such as addictions and mental health, applied behavioural analysis, corrections and justice services, developmental disabilities, geriatrics, housing and homelessness, children and adolescent mental health, professional resources, and trauma informed care.
