Vet Tech Students Demonstrate Pet Care at Local School
Veterinary Technology students, Bridget Cox and Mackenzie Davidson, and her dog, Tootsie, paid a visit to a kindergarten class at Centennial Public School in Kingston to demonstrate and discuss basic veterinary care.
When Does the New Year Begin?
There are a variety of ways of welcoming the new year. Many may reflect on the past year, and some may look forward to what is to come. January 1st is known to many of us as the start of a new year, where we flip the page to a new calendar.

I’m so happy to be welcoming everyone back to SLC after what I hope was a restful break. I also hope the snow we got before Christmas and ongoing travel disruptions didn’t wreak havoc on anyone’s plans.
EDI Teaching and Learning Opportunity: Holocaust Survivors Stories Featured in New Museum at Kingston Synagogue
With a key recommendation of SLC’s EDI task force report to “Foster EDI Excellence and Innovation in Teaching, Learning, and Research,” a new resource has opened to learn about local Holocaust survivors who made their home in Kingston after World War II, and to learn more about Kingston’s Jewish community.  
Introducing the SLC Scholarship Fund for Faculty and Staff
The Research Office is excited to announce the launch of the SLC Scholarship Fund. The SLC Scholarship fund will support SLC faculty and staff to stay current in their fields (both professional fields as well as teaching and learning*) by providing funding for a wide range of high-quality creation, knowledge dissemination, process and evaluation, or peer learning activities and projects. Scholarship activities are activities that enable faculty and staff to meaningfully and actively participate in their areas of expertise.
