Partnerships and Impacts
At present, Eastern Ontario is being measured by its level of community engagement. All levels of government are focusing their efforts into funding local sustainable community development. St. Lawrence College (SLC) has embraced the shift and has been actively engaged in stakeholder, community, and partnership development. I would like to highlight one such success, among many that SLC’s Innovation and Business Engagement Department has accomplished.
HCM PeopleSoft Upgrade Project
College team members are working on upgrades and enhancements to SLC’s HR and payroll systems through the HCM PeopleSoft Upgrade Project (PUP). A technical upgrade will begin on Friday, October 22 through Monday, October 25.
SLC is offering two brand new programs, with intakes beginning this January
SLC is offering two brand new programs, with intakes beginning this January. The new Food Safety and Security Techniques program is a one-year Ontario College Certificate offered on the Kingston campus. The new Computer Programming program is a two-year Ontario College Diploma offered on the Cornwall campus.
Thanking Our Grads
Alumni & Development is proud to support alumni who continue to engage with the College. When a graduate returns to SLC, either virtually or in person, to speak to students, takes part in a panel, or volunteers for an activity for the College, we are happy to provide an alumni gift.
Walking the Talk on Sustainability: Sustainable Transportation
Supporting and understanding how people commute to campus and the barriers keeping them from active transportation is an important part of our transition to sustainable communities.
