POSITION SUMMARY
Working alongside and under the supervision of research faculty within the School of Baccalaureate Nursing, the successful incumbent will demonstrate strong data collection and research skills; proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of findings; effective interprofessional collaboration skills; competency in the use of technology for data collection and analysis; an understanding of an adherence to ethical research standards. Additionally, travel around the catchment area may be required.
This position is for 10 hours per week from September-December, with the possibility of being renewed for the winter term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in all elements of a research project, under the supervision of faculty researchers.
- Creation of research instruments, including qualitative and quantitative survey questions, and semi-structured interview guides
- Engage in research ethics application process
- Collaborate with interprofessional community partners.
- Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently under supervision.
- Review and summarize literature related to the research topic
- Balance multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and ensure timely completion of research activities.
- Safeguard sensitive data with a strong understanding of confidentiality protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge of ethical procedures, including gaining consent from research participants, particularly in healthcare settings, and handling the submission of ethics review approvals.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Current enrollment in the BScN program
Other Required Qualifications:
- Successful completion of or current enrollment in a college or university level research course
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.
Salary & Terms
- Start Rate: $17.95/hour to $26.59/hour (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)

Terms of Employment:
- Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at St. Lawrence College.
- Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
