Designer Bio

After gaining a lot of experience and working in many different areas of design, I’ve found that some
of my personal favorite parts of graphic design are designing interactive websites and apps, creating
visually appealing graphics and posters, and designing logos. Aside from graphic design, I also love
creating art. I mainly enjoy drawing digitally, but I also work traditionally, and I love how I can
sometimes combine my art with my graphic design pieces to make them stand out even more.
Overall, I highly enjoy both art and graphic design, and I hope that shows through my work.

GEAR GAMES
COURSE
Interaction Design 3 & Brand Identity Design 1
OBJECTIVE
This is a combination of two projects: a custom logo/brand design, and a custom
website design. The objective was to combine the logo with the website and make the
branding and design of the website match with the logo and its brand identity. The Gear
Games brand is tailored to gamers of all types and its core values are strength and
reliability as well as to give the user a premium feeling experience when using the
website.
DESCRIPTION
This is a website design for both desktop and mobile devices where users can track all
of their progress and achievements for all of the video games they own no matter what
gaming platform the games are on. There are also other engaging features like adding
friends, custom profiles that showcase your games and achievements, custom site
related achievements and more. To help convey the Gear Games brand identity across
the website I used the typeface Amboy from the logo for all of the heading text on the
site. I also applied the color palette from the logo (red & black) across the site as well.
Finally, I gave everything a polished and refined look to top off the design of the website
and make it feel more premium.

COURSE
Brand Identity Design 2
OBJECTIVE
The objective was to create a custom logo redesign for a Canadian non-profit
organization of our choice and then to apply that branding across multiple different
applications (websites, clothing, stationery) which were then all eventually compiled into
a brand guidebook.
DESCRIPTION
This project includes a custom logo redesign, a website design (mobile & desktop),
clothing designs, and three different company stationery pieces (letterhead, business
card, envelope) with the organization’s branding applied to them.
SPRING AWAKENING
COURSE
Graphic Design 5
OBJECTIVE
The objective was to create a poster design as well as two other applications to help
promote the SLC Musical Theatre’s performance of the play Spring Awakening.
DESCRIPTION
This project includes a poster featuring my custom illustration, a postcard design, and a
three-slide Instagram advertisement for the musical performance Spring Awakening.
The musical explores both uplifting and darker themes, including romance, self discovery, and rebellion against authority, as well as abuse and exploitation, sexual
repression, and death and suicide.
The poster illustration was designed to reflect this contrast. The illustration begins
bright at the top and gradually becomes darker toward the bottom, symbolizing the shift
between the musical’s hopeful and troubling themes. Bright sunbeams help to represent
the uplifting elements, while sharp, dark purple flowers near the bottom emphasize the
darker aspects. At the center, a rose and two mannequin-like figures reaching toward
each other represent the story’s focus on young romance, with the blue figure
symbolizing a boy and the pink figure symbolizing a girl. The title treatment also
reinforces this contrast, with Spring presented in a more elegant style and Awakening in
a bolder, harsher one.
The postcard and Instagram advertisements apply the same illustration and title
treatment, with layouts adapted to suit each format.
