Hello, I’m Abigail McDade. Art and design have been a favorite thing
of mine to do, especially when able to help others ideas come to life
as well. Born hard of hearing, I didn’t let it stop me to communicate
with others to create great friendships as well as using good
creativity. My career goals are to be a freelance character designer,
even though it may be a hard goal. but I’m up to the challenge.

COURSE
Design Illustration
OBJECTIVE
To design a character turn-around, based off a book or to create your own.
DESCRIPTION
To make a character turn-around, three silhouettes, 2-3 expressions and a short
description. This character was made from the game Dungeons and Dragons, with a
cowboy Gothic twist to the race of Tieflings.
His name is Vance Killian. A Tiefling cursed of Dhampir abilities and feeds on spine
fluids.

OBJECTIVE
To revisit past Projects to add/change issues or to improve with new skills and
knowledge.
DESCRIPTION
To add additional pages, such as fixing the two recipes. For this cookbook, to make
as a fantasy cookbook with a story throughout to tie it all together. With fun and
interesting foods and illustrations to go along with them.

OBJECTIVE
To design a poster for a real client based of the musical they were directing. The
Client was asking for a poster that was engaging, fit the theme of the musical, and not
spoil too much but keep people on their toes.
DESCRIPTION
To design a poster advertising for the musical ‘Spring Awakening’. As well to have
applications for social media such as Instagram.
The poster is for the audience of teenagers, based on the musicals story about, love,
rebellion, and consequences. while the play has dark themes, it is fun as well, and for
the poster design. I used colours such as hot neon, and other bright colours with the
balance of darker colours for the background.
