Emma Amalfi took home the gold medal as St. Lawrence College's Esthetician program returned to the Skilled Trades competition for the first time since 2020.

Emma and fellow competitor Emma Zwiers represented the program at this year's event. Amalfi's gold medal finish earns her a spot at the Skills Canada National Competition, set for May 28–29, 2026, in Toronto. Emma Zwiers also competed, with both students drawing on their training to perform under pressure in a format that tests technical precision and professionalism.

The program's return to competition came with backing from several instructors and supporters. Diana Boboti-Senis, Katie Salamone, Elisabeth Gingras, and Paisley Mattes provided mentorship and preparation support. Salamone's involvement marked a full-circle moment — she won gold at the same competition in 2019 and returned this year to help coach the next generation of competitors.
Additional support came from Aidan Wornes, who provided financial and moral backing, and Geoff Pfoh, who ensured the lab was properly equipped ahead of the competition.
