The responsibilities of SLC Professors include, but are not limited to:

Creating a positive learning environment that accommodate students’ diverse culture and educational backgrounds, experience and individual learning preferences;
Effectively use educational and advanced technologies, and digital learning methodologies to enhance the student learning experience;
Developing curriculum that is appropriately designed and uses evidence-based tools and strategies to support and assess student learning;
Utilize principles of adult education to actively engage students in the learning process;
Ensuring that course and program curriculum is current and relevant with a lens on the future;
Working effectively with learners, colleagues, program and interdisciplinary teams as well as internal and external stakeholders;
Effectively use the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to build a contemporary and evidenced based practice.

St. Lawrence College is seeking experienced and motivated professionals who shares St. Lawrence College’s vision to be a globally recognized college, delivering innovative learning opportunities and preparing career-ready graduates to be leaders in their field. 

St. Lawrence College requires part-time professors to teach Marketing courses for the Business Programs on the Cornwall Campus.  

The College invites applications from qualified individuals for part-time teaching positions for the Winter 2020 term.  An inventory of candidates interested in teaching courses will be created and retained for a period of one year. 

The College has an immediate need for the following courses:

MARK 2 – Professional Selling
MARK 102 - Entrepreneurship
MARK 201 – Principles of Marketing


The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications:

Education / Certification / Designation: 

1. Master of Business Administration with extensive relevant experience to meet the requirements to teach marketing concepts in all aspects of marketing strategy, with emphasis in tactics and implementation across both business to business and business to consumer organizations. 
2. A minimum of five years of current and relevant knowledge and experience working in marketing, advertising and sales promotion.
3. Teaching experience using Blackboard or other learning management systems is preferred.
4. Experience in career development for emerging business professionals.
5. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with demonstrated proficiency and practice using principles of andragogy is preferred.
6. A global mindset and a demonstrated practice supporting a diversity of learners.
7. Experience participating in industry-led or community-based applied research is preferred.
8. A proven track record of life-long learning.
9. A demonstrated commitment to putting “students’ first is preferred”.
10. An understanding of the Ontario college system is preferred.

Candidates seeking faculty positions with the College will be required to design, facilitate and assess learning in accordance with adult learning principles and universal design in learning (UDL).  Prior post-secondary teaching experience or experience in adult instructions techniques, and curriculum design experience will be preferred.   An ongoing commitment to professional learning is required.

Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide a teaching demonstration. Details will be provided when interviews are scheduled.

Salary and Terms

Hourly Salary Range will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
