POSITION SUMMARY

The User Experience (UX) Designer reports to the Creative Director and, under their guidance, will work up to 12 hours per week for a maximum duration of 10 weeks. This role is pivotal in shaping intuitive and engaging digital experiences for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts user research to gain insights into user needs, motivations, and pain points.
  • Translates research findings into user-centered design solutions and actionable design recommendations.
  • Creates wireframes, information architecture, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Collaborates with graphic designers and developers to ensure cohesive visual design and seamless technical implementation.
  • Conducts usability testing, analyzes user feedback, and iterates on designs to optimize the user experience.
  • Ensures designs adhere to accessibility guidelines for inclusive experiences.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision).
  • Strong understanding of user journeys, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to advocate for the user while aligning with project objectives.
  • Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with project management tools and generative AI tools.

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements: 

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.

Salary & Terms

  • Start Rate: $17.20/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
  • Hours per week: 12

Terms of Employment:

  • Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College OR returning to Full-Time studies in the immediate upcoming semester.
  • Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
